With many sole traders and partnerships due to receive their Self Employed Income Support Scheme grant over the coming days, how does this affect Universal Credit claims?

With the application process now being open for the Self Employed Income Support Scheme many people who qualify will receive their grant over the coming weeks. If you are entitled to the grant and are currently claiming Universal Credit how does this affect the amount you will receive?

The grant is taxable income and as such will need to be included in your income calculations and will potentially reduce your Universal Credit award. The good news is this will only change your future claims and your claims to date will remain unchanged.
