The Chancellor has announced measures aimed at financially supporting self-employed and freelance workers during the coronavirus crisis

The latest financial assistance measures for the self-employed and freelance workers has been announced by the chancellor. He has confirmed the support is similar the that received by employed workers however there is a significant delay in being able to claim.

  • Self-employed workers will receive a taxable grant totalling 80% of average taxable income over the last 3 years up to a total of £2,500 per month. Initially this will be for a period of 3 months
  • The grant is only available if your taxable profits were below £50,000
  • You must have completed your 2019 tax return or file it within the next 4 weeks
  • The grants will not be available until June 2020
  • HMRC will contact all self-employed workers that qualify
